Takapuna Grammar School Rowing Club – Assistant Coaches

Takapuna Grammar School Rowing Club invites expressions of interest from coaches and aspiring coaches, keen to join our team for the 23/24 season.

With a new Head Coach joining us from overseas, it is an exciting opportunity to learn and grow, taking the next step in your coaching journey, plus help us shape our future programmes.

Takapuna Grammar School Rowing Club Inc is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers, offering rowing experiences to Year 8 – Year 12 students from Belmont Intermediate and Takapuna Grammar School, Auckland.

We are a fully affiliated club with the Auckland Rowing Association and with the Secondary Schools Rowing Association and work in partnership with Takapuna Grammar School. We are immensely proud of our strong coaching, rowing, and competing heritage and are currently celebrating our 85th anniversary.

Based out of our clubhouse in Bayswater Marina, we have unrivalled access to the Waitemata Harbour for all on-water training. We also have a dedicated building at Takapuna Grammar School for our erg and on-land training, plus access to gym facilities. We pride ourselves on the spirit of achievement by participation; our club policy is an inclusive one whereby ‘all those who want to row, can row’, and we provide a structured, safe, and comfortable environment for athletes with a wide range of athletic abilities to experience and enjoy the sport of rowing, plus strive to achieve their goals.

We are seeking enthusiastic coaches, as well as those interested in developing their coaching skills, to join our team. With a new Head Coach joining us in August, we have an exciting season ahead, and are looking for expressions of interest to support those new to rowing, our development squad, plus our competition squad teams – girls, boys and coxswains.

We are open to discussing remuneration and other commitments in person. Please send your expressions of interest to Joanna Gilbert at
