ARA Coach Education Workshops 2026
We’re thrilled to announce a series of three Coach Education Workshops led by the highly experienced Justin Evans, who is Head of Athletic Performance at RNZ and has been involved with HPSNZ across multiple sports and Olympic cycles.
These workshops are designed to provide invaluable upskilling opportunities, foster knowledge sharing, and create a platform for Auckland coaches, of all levels, to build their expertise. The workshops are free for Auckland coaches and will include light refreshments.
All Auckland coaches, new and established, managers, administrators and volunteers welcome!
Workshop 2 – “Designing Training Sessions with Intent“
Focus: Replacing guesswork with physiological rationale using U19/U22 examples.
● Stop copying what other clubs are doing just because it’s on their whiteboard. Unlock the exact physiological rationale behind your workouts so every single stroke your crew takes has a definitive purpose.
● Go behind the scenes of some RNZ programmes and learn to analyze real training data, master energy systems, and intentionally design daily sessions that build genuine boat speed.
Date: Wednesday, 29th July, 2026 Rescheduled to 12th August
Time: 7.30-9pm
Venue: West End Rowing Club, Saunders Reserve, Avondale.
