Open Blues Programme 2022

The Open Blues programme is for both Pathway athletes and aspiring pathway athletes (formally known as the Dark Blues Year 13+) who are looking to further their development in a competitive environment or looking to progress their rowing career and gain selection onto the National Pathway and NZ representative squads. This programme is also for those who are not necessarily looking to progress into NZ squads but still want a competitive, challenging and fun experience.

The Open Blues programme will train weekly between May and August which will incorporate; on-water sessions, strength and conditioning sessions, and camps in June and August, giving athletes the opportunity to build upon rowing fundamentals and learn new high-level skills.

Another purpose of this programme is to select an Open Interprovincial Squad to represent the Auckland region.

There is a cost of $150 to participate in the Open Blues programme.

Further information will be provided upon selection into the Open Blues programme.

Weekly on-water training session with the ARA Winter Regional Coach.

Weekly strength and conditioning sessions at the AUT Millennium High Performance Sports Centre.

Camp 1: Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June, 7:00am – 3:00pm at Auckland Rowing Club.

Camp 2: Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August, 7:00am – 3:00pm at West End Rowing Club.
